Choosing an Office Furniture Dealer

There are many different things that should be considered when choosing a vendor to buy office furniture and corner computer desks. Some of the things you want to research and know before you buy are:

1. Do you want a designer or decorator?

There are furniture companies who employ professional interior decorators to help with the process of selecting office furniture. They do this so that you can be assured that you are mixing pieces together that blend well and will look like what you wanted it to. Additionally, there are different types of furniture that need to be coordinated such as chairs, artwork, book shelves, and corner computer desks. If you need a decorator or designer then it may be more cost effective to choose a furniture company who employs one in-house.

2. Do you want to buy a warranty?

This is something you need to find out about before you start shopping at a company. Some companies may not offer warranties at all, therefore eliminating them as a shopping option. Keep in mind, that many times the manufacturer may offer their own warranty even if the retailer does not.

3. Will you require furniture installation?

Furniture installation can be a very long and complicated process, especially when dealing with commercial office furniture. Many dealers, but not all, will include installation for a nominal fee. Additionally, once your furniture is set up in your office you may have specific needs such as a hole drilled in your corner computer desk for your computer cords to go through.

The truth is, of all the retail industries furniture is one of the most marked up. A retailer may pay $1,000 for a corner computer desk and then charge you at least $2,000 for it. Also, manufacturers sell their products in a large variety of retail stores. So since you are putting a lot of money into your office furniture and can be flexible on where you get the furniture, you have room to be choosy on your dealer.

In order to get the most value for your purchase make sure that your furniture dealer/retailer is meeting all of your needs.
